Jews from Damascus and the Tzfat (Safed) connection

A few months ago I discovered a group on Facebook of the Israeli organisation of Jews from Damascus     https://www.facebook.com/groups/misham/ where I first posted a1906 postcard of the LIsbona mansion in Damascus and got quite a few comments , mostly from people who had learnt there - it had served as a Jewish school until the Jewish community formally closed in 1992.

Later I posted a photo from 1910 of a meeting of Jewish notables with the Rabbi Haim Nahum Effendi
